Intermarium Weekly 24-29.02.2020

There is a great deal of popular anxiety throughout the countries of the Intermarium concerning the threat of the Coronavirus, which seems to be gradually encircling and surrounding the region. In Ukraine however, this has spilled over into political instability with outbreaks of violence between police and protesters in Kharkiv and Zhmerynka. President Vladimir Zelensky has called for an extraordinary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada (parliament), who will most likely vote for the resignation of Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk next week. The main candidate tipped to replace him is now Serhiy Tihipko, who chaired Viktor Yanukovych’s presidential election campaign back in 2004.
